"Wild Magnolias is a documentary short film that follows Chief Bo Dollis Jr. as he teaches his proteges the virtues of being a Mardi Gras Indian, a subculture in New Orleans that instills pride, patience, and humility through the detailed craft of stitching and sewing. This is a film about the process, what happens all the way up to the presentation of the suit, and how the practice is a one-of-a-kind creative and cultural outlet for the younger generation involved."

The film, edited by CARTEL's Nicholas Deliberto, screened right at home during the New Orleans Film Society festival last week.
